Sugar Productions was started in 2009 by Shane Spillenger after graduating from Clarkson University in 2007.
Sugar Productions has grown to be a household name among those in the Capital Region, bringing well known bands and artists to town. Since 2009 Sugar Productions has worked with Matt & Kim, Arkells, Robert Delong, Wild Adriatic, Barns Courtney, Sylvan Esso and many more.
Sugar Productions is also the force behind Pearlpalooza, Albany’s biggest free all-day music festival. Started in 2010, the festival brings both local and national acts to the Capital Region. North Pearl Street between Pine Street and Sheridan Ave is shut down and attendees can enjoy food, drinks, games and music throughout the day. After 8 years, Pearlpalooza has grown to include numerous local businesses and sponsors, including WEQX, Remarkable Liquids, The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Nine Pin Cider and Albany Distilling Company.
